This conversation will be firing on all cylinders as Ithaca native and Cornell senior lecturer of engineering Francis Vanek, and energy activist and HeatSmart program director Jonathan Comstock discuss the race for beneficial electrification. Are you a spectator or have you joined the race? Join us to learn more about how fast and efficient alternative energy systems can be, whether in your home or in your car.

Francis M. Vanek, Ph.D., is Senior Lecturer and Research Associate in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University, where he specializes in energy efficiency, alternative energy, and energy for transportation. He is the lead author of Energy Systems Engineering: Evaluation and Implementation”(Third Edition) and “Sustainable Transportation Systems Engineering”.

Jonathan Comstock, Ph.D., is a founding member of Solar Tompkins and currently serves as program director for the HeatSmart Tompkins program. He is a co-author on both the Agriculture and Ecosystems chapters of the ClimAID report sponsored by NYSERDA, which provides a comprehensive analysis of climate change impacts expected in New York and potential steps for adaptation.
